Star Trek Live, a new interactive stage performance from CBS Consumer Products and Mad Science Productions, will make its debut at the Ontario Science Centre on June 2.
Based on the popular science-fiction franchise, the performance takes audiences on an exhilarating 30-minute journey offering an unforgettable live theatrical experience for fans of all ages. The show combines fun special effects, audience interaction, and an exploration of real space-age technology.
Produced by Mad Science Productions, under a license from CBS Consumer Products, Star Trek Live introduces a world of discovery by combining science with entertainment to teach and encourage scientific literacy. In the show, the audience joins the Starfleet as new cadets assemble for the first day at the Starfleet Academy led by its best and brightest officers. The new cadets will have to quickly learn the intricacies of living and working in space, modern space travel, and the latest in communication and technology.

Stretched canvas wall art debuting this summer features high-quality images of legends such as John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe, and Elvis Presley. They are available in a large (11” x 14”) size and a small (6” x 6”) format. The ready-to-hang canvas wall art expands Vandor’s room décor collection, which includes wall clocks, fleece throws, and vintage metal signs featuring classic rock album art.

American Greetings has green lit production for a third season of Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Bitty Adventures. Thirteen episodes have been ordered for the new season that will continue to showcase Strawberry Shortcake and her six best friends as they embark upon new adventures.
Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Bitty Adventures airs daily on The Hub and is a joint venture between Discovery Communications and Hasbro, Inc.
Bulldog Licensing has formed a partnership with Brazier & Co to create a plush line based on classic animation property Roobarb and Custard. Brazier & Co will develop a range of Roobarb and Custard items for retail, which will include large plush, beanies, and clippers.
Characters Roobarb and Custard were created by Grange Calveley in the early 1970s and starred in the Bob Godfrey-directed BBC cartoon series Roobarb. After only one season the series left the air, but returned in 2005 as Roobarb and Custard Too. The show has since been broadcast regularly by Channel Five, pulling in a new generation of fans.
Danilo Promotions signed with V&S Entertainment to create a line of greeting cards based on the preschool program Everything’s Rosie.
As a supplier of licensed calendars and greeting cards in the UK, Danilo Promotions plans to produce greeting cards, sound cards, calendars, gift wrap and bags, and print on demand. An initial sample of products will be released this summer, with the full line to follow next year.

Kohl’s Department Stores, FremantleMedia Enterprises, 19 Entertainment (a division of CKX, Inc.), LF USA (a subsidiary of Li & Fung Limited), and Bravado have partnered to launch an exclusive American Idol apparel collection. The newly created American Idol fashion brand, named Authentic Icon (AI), will be available exclusively at Kohl’s and Kohls.com beginning in April.
Prominently positioned in the junior’s and young men’s departments, the AI spring collection will be available in Kohl’s stores through June to coincide with American Idol’s 11th season.
LF USA’s MESH division will design and produce the AI collection. Kohl’s will be the exclusive retailer, and will support the brand with marketing such as national advertising, in-store graphics, online and digital media, direct mail, and public relations.

Beginning in June, visitors of the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands, in Singapore, will have a firsthand look inside Harry Potter: The Exhibition. The exhibition will showcase a collection of artifacts from the various film sets and viewing props, including Harry’s wand and eyeglasses, Professor Snape’s original costume, the Golden Snitch, and the Gryffindor school uniforms.
Other featured items include Sybill Trelawney’s crystal ball and exotic wardrobe; costumes and props from Professors Lupin, Lockhart, and Umbridge; artifacts from the Yule Ball, including costumes from such notable characters as Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Professor Dumbledore; and life-size creatures, including centaurs, a caged dragon, Buckbeak the Hippogriff, and a giant Acromantula.
Harry Potter: The Exhibition runs from June 2 through September 30, and tickets will be available for purchase online and at all Marina Bay Sands box offices beginning May 1.

Bravo Sports Corporation has expanded its licensed products division by announcing its partnership with Marvel Entertainment to bring Avengers skateboards to the mass market in time for the summer release of the Marvel’s The Avengers.
The skateboard collection features the fictional superhero team of Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Captain America, and Tho. A 21-inch skateboard was made available in January, and the 28-inch skateboard will be available in March at Toys “R” Us. The skateboards come in the themes Team, Assemble, Rescue, and Lightning.

The Hunger Games movie, from Lionsgate, opens in theaters March 23, and coinciding with the film’s opening, Scholastic has an additional movie tie-in book release planned, after releasing three movie tie-in books last month.
The World of The Hunger Games, the fourth title in the movie tie-in program, will be available the day the movie opens.
Scholastic released The Hunger Games: Movie Tie-In Edition; The Hunger Games: Official Illustrated Movie Companion; and The Hunger Games Tribute Guide, the ultimate Tribute guide to the 24 Tributes featured in the upcoming film, on February 7. Scholastic is publishing and delivering all four movie tie-in titles through all of its distribution channels both domestically and internationally. All four movie tie-in titles are available as e-books as well.
In addition to the series’ film and publishing program, the Internet buzzed this week about a potential Katniss Everdeen Barbie doll from Mattel.
