The Wiggles Names Jacqueline Vong Head of North American Licensing

TheWigglesThe children’s​ ​musical​ ​group ​The Wiggles appointed Jacqueline Vong as head of North American licensing to help drive partnerships with targeted brands including recent partnerships with Fun 2 Play Toys for toys, MGM music and Kino Lorber for music and DVD distribution, and Stoneridge cycles for sporting goods in Canada.

The Aussie Fab Four will begin their Canadian tour The Big Show Tour at the end of the month. The themed toys and book and DVD bundle will launch this holiday season at Toys “R” in the U.S. and at Costco in Canada.

Licensing partnerships will launch early next year and provide new opportunities for parents and kids to immerse themselves in the brand.

Rovio Entertainment, Everton Enter Multi-Year Shirt Sleeve Partnership

AngryBirds_EvertonRovio Entertainment Corporation and Everton, the English Premier League Club, signed a multi-year shirt sleeve partnership. Beginning September 17, Angry Birds will be an official shirt sleeve partner for Everton.

The Premier League sports league has more than 1.5 billion global viewers in more than 200 territories, and Rovio has 80 million monthly active users. The partnership will bring together fans from these two communities to participate in collaborative content in the Angry Birds games and co-branded fan merchandise.

Rovio Entertainment, YouTube to Launch New Episodes of Angry Birds Blues Series

AngryBirdsBluesRovio Entertainment will premiere new episodes of the animated series Angry Birds Blues on YouTube and YouTube Kids beginning September 14. The episodes will be released simultaneously in the U.S. and territories worldwide.

The new episodes follow the antics of Jay, Jim and Jake, the adorable blue bird triplets known as The Blues, and their zany adventures with one another and sometimes, the Hatchlings. Episodes will debut twice per week on YouTube and YouTube Kids.

eOne Announces FTA Broadcaster, First Partners for PJ Masks in Mexico

PJMasksEntertainment One (eOne) secured free to air broadcaster (FTA) Televisa for PJ Masks, which will begin airing the first season of the preschool series in Mexico next month. Televisa will broadcast the show in addition to co-production partner Disney Junior, where the show airs daily across the Latin America region.

Bandai México is the distributor for Just Play’s master global toy line in Mexico. The initial toy range launched exclusively in the market via Liverpool stores in August, where local media and bloggers were present to celebrate the launch.

Peppa Pig Live Adds Tour Dates for Next Year

PeppaPigLiveThe new North American Peppa Pig Live tour Peppa Pig’s Surprise will visit an additional 33 cities next year. Following a 60-city leg this fall, Peppa Pig’s Surprise will resume next April in Las Vegas and make its first trip to New York City. The show will also visit 18 cities in Canada, including Toronto. Peppa Pig Live brand has sold more than 400,000 tickets in the U.S. and Canada to date.

Citi is the official card of Peppa Pig’s Surprise, and cardmembers will have access to a pre-sale as well as VIP packages, including a meet and greet with the cast. EpicRightsEpic Rights partnered with Merch by Amazon to sell Epic Rights’ artists official apparel and cellphone accessories on Amazon.com. The initial product launch includes classic and fashionable shirts for men, women, and kids, featuring graphics from KISS, Aerosmith, and John Lennon.

Peanuts Worldwide, Cedar Fair Extend Peanuts Licensing Agreement

PeanutsPeanuts Worldwide, a subsidiary controlled by DHX Media Ltd., and Cedar Fair L.P. renewed the license agreement to feature the Peanuts characters—created by Charles M. Schulz—throughout Cedar Fair’s 11 amusement park locations. The new agreement extends Cedar Fair’s North American exclusive use of Peanuts in its attractions, entertainment and sports, food and beverage, lodging, and retail operations to 2025. An added five-year option, exercisable at Cedar Fair’s discretion, brings the potential contract extension to 2030.
