Beyblade Burst Premieres in Germany

BeybladeBurstSunrights Inc.’s animated series Beyblade Burst premiered on Nickelodeon in Germany last month. The series airs Saturdays in the 11:10 a.m. timeslot. Additionally, licensed Beyblade Burst products have also been introduced at retail.The licensing program in German-speaking territories is handled by German brand management and media company m4e AG, in cooperation with Studio 100 Media.

The animated series follows a group of passionate Bladers who follow their dreams on an unforgettable journey to the top. Valt Aoi is crazy about Beyblade, the popular spinning top. Valt’s best friend, Shu Kurenai, is a Beyblade prodigy and was named as one of the National Beyblade Tournament’s Supreme Four. Inspired by Shu’s accomplishments, Valt sets his sights on reaching the national tournament. As he battles his way to the top, Valt broadens his circle of friends and reaches new heights.

The Beyblade Burst product line from Hasbro lets kids scan their Beyblade Burst tops in the Beyblade Burst app, allowing them to customize their collection and battle with others using WiFi.  

eOne Expands Peppa Pig and PJ Masks Properties in the Nordic Region

PeppaPigEntertainment One (eOne) will expand its Peppa Pig and PJ Masks brands on-air and at retail across Nordic territories. Plus Licens represents the consumer products programs for both of the preschool brands, and will introduce new categories across the region this year.

Peppa Pig airs across four terrestrial state broadcasters in Norway (NRK), Denmark (DR), Finland (YLE), and Sweden (SVT). A publishing program is established in Finland, Norway, Otava, and Gyldendal, where Peppa Pig story books and novelty formats are available. In Finland, more than 45,000 copies of Peppa Pig books have been sold in three years, and the first published titles will rollout in Denmark and Forlaget Alvilda later this year. Additional categories to launch in the Nordic region beginning this September include, Clementoni, Amo, and Barbo Toys for puzzles and games; HAMA for plastic bead sets; and Bjørna for nightlights. Mattel, Fullscreen Launch Kids’ Entertainment Brand, Create Hot Wheels Digital Content Innovation Team

MattelMattel Inc. partnered with Fullscreen to launch Fullscreen Family—a brand-safe video network—and the Hot Wheels digital content innovation team. Through the partnership, the team will focus on creating content to engage a new generation of online consumers across video and social platforms. Additionally, Mattel will develop stronger relationships with online influencers in the kids and family space.

Fullscreen Family is a jointly-created video network that will feature a family-focused collection of brand-safe channels for third-party advertisers. New Shopkins: World Vacation Film to Premiere in October

ShopkinsFollowing last year’s success of Shopkins’ debut film, Shopkins: Chef Club, UPHE Content Group announced the newest installment,  Shopkins: World Vacation. The movie will be available in the U.S. on digital on October 3, and on DVD and on On Demand on October 17. The DVD comes with a free exclusive Biscuit Bandit toy, and the DVD and digital versions include special bonus features, including new sing-a-long songs and a never-before-seen webisode. Bonus features on the DVD include Shopkins Bring Europe to Jessicake, Move It Like You Mean It Karaoke, and Ready To Go Karaoke.

Hasbro, TripAdvisor Partner to Add Vacations to The Game of Life

Life-1Hasbro Inc. teamed up with TripAdvisor to add vacations to The Game of Life game. For the first time in the board game’s 60-year history, players will be encouraged to choose their dream destinations with vacation cards inspired by some of TripAdvisor’s top-ranked family destinations and activities.

The Game of Life’s new vacation card options includes a ski trip, a beach day in Punta Cana, hiking the Great Wall of China, and visiting the Eiffel Tower. To celebrate the collaboration, a recent survey conducted by TripAdvisor illustrated just how important not just travel—but family travel—is to consumers.  Of respondents surveyed, 86 percent say taking vacation is an essential part of life; 88 percent say vacations enhanced their lives; and more than half feel happier, rejuvenated and closer with their families after taking a family vacation.

The Game of Life with the vacation updates will be available at most major retailers nationwide and on HasbroToyShop.com this August.

Disney Launches Star Wars AR Event During Force Friday II

ForceFridayFollowing the global response to Force Friday in 2015, Disney and Lucasfilm will launch Find the Force during Force Friday II. The global augmented reality event will commemorate the worldwide launch of new products inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The pop-up AR treasure hunt will take place over three days at more than 20,000 retail locations across 30 countries. As fans turn up to take home new Star Wars: The Last Jedi products, they will have the opportunity to activate an augmented reality experience featuring Star Wars characters, including fan-favorites, and new surprise additions from the film. The LEGO Group Reveals Global Licensing and Merchandising Program for The LEGO Ninjago Movie

LEGO NINJAGO_70614 Lightning JetThe LEGO Group and Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) revealed the licensing and merchandising program for The LEGO Ninjago Movie, including apparel, accessories, costumes, toys, publishing, stationery, party goods, and more. 

LEGO will launch more than 15 original construction sets inspired by the movie to let fans recreate scenes from the film, including the Spinjitzu Training Dojo, Ninjago City Chase, Master Falls, Manta Ray Bomber, “Garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON!,” and the intricate Ninjago City. Additional building sets will feature new collectibles, including the Water Strider, Jelly Sub, Green Ninja Mech Dragon, Lightning Jet, Garma Mecha Man, Fire Mech, Ice Tank, Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon, and Destiny’s Bounty. Technicolor, Merlin Entertainments Group Partner to Create Aquarium Experience for The Deep

The Deep_SEALife_EventTechnicolor signed a cross-promotional agreement with Merlin Entertainments Group to create an interactive entertainment experience for the animated underwater adventure series The Deep more than 20 aquariums in the UK and Germany. The events support the launch of the series’ second season, alongside a new mobile game from DHX Interactive.
