Pop Warner Little Scholars, Genius Brands International Enter Exclusive Music Partnership

SpacePOPPop Warner Little Scholars Inc. named Genius Brands International Inc.’s series SpacePOP as the official music provider for Pop Warner Little Scholars Cheer and Dance program, engaging participants and audience of 325,000 Pop Warner student-athletes across the U.S.

SpacePOP music will be utilized in Pop Warner’s dance and cheerleading workshops, camps, games, and at competitions across the country through the end of the year, culminating in the national championships to be broadcast across ESPN networks.

LeSportsac, Nintendo Partner for a New Super Mario Travel Collection

Rovio’s Angry Birds Evolution Now Available for Download

AngryBirdsEvolutionRovio Entertainment’s new Angry Birds Evolution puts a spin on the Angry Birds brand, featuring eastern-style RPG mechanics and console quality graphics. The reimagined and redesigned birds let players collect, train, and evolve them.

Rovio, in co-operation with Chimera Entertainment, created more than 100 new birds with multiple evolution states, some modeled after 80s action characters and comic book heroes.

The game is now available to download for free on the App Store and Google Play.

NPD Study Shows Toys and Technology Drive Licensed Sales for Kids in the U.S.

NPD_Stats According to the U.S. Kids License Report from The NPD Group, video games, electronics, and apps make up a combined 22 percent of kids’ licensed product dollar sales in the U.S.

This is on par with the volume represented by toys, which is the number one licensed industry at most retailers.

Toys capture the largest share of licensed sales among younger kids, representing over one-quarter of dollar sales for kids ages 2 to 5. This percentage shifts as video games, electronics, and apps gain more prominence as kids get older. Video games earn 27 percent of sales among boys ages 10 to 14, and share also increases substantially among girls as they get older. Toys and video games capture the largest share for eight out of the top 10 licenses, illustrating the weight carried by each of these industries. Read the rest of this entry »

SpacePOP: Not Your Average Princesses Hits the Big Screen for One-Day Event

SpacePOPPresented by Fathom Events and Genius Brands International, SpacePOP: Not Your Average Princesses will be shown in movie theaters nationwide for one day only on September 16 at 10:30 a.m. local time.
