Highlights for Children launched the Highlights Every Day mobile experience that offers kids quality screen time.

Created in partnership with Fingerprint, Highlights Every Day features classic Highlights “Fun with a Purpose,” including interactive videos and quizzes, fiction and non-fiction, and the Hidden Pictures Puzzle.

Little will oversee creative development, strategy, and sales and develop business strategies that take advantage of emerging platforms and new distribution models.

Little’s appointment marks his return to Rainmaker, where he served as head of development and executive producer on Rainmaker’s first 3-D CGI-animated release Escape from Planet Earth.

Previously, Little served as the executive producer and head of the U.S. operations of Brown Bag Films, and as vice president of development for The Gotham Group.

Little returns to Rainmaker as the company prepares for the theatrical release of Ratcher & Clank, completes production on Bob the Builder animated series, and starts work on Reboot: The Guardian Code.

MLBPA, Fresh Brewed Tees Partner to Launch 2016 Player Election Apparel Collection

The Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) and Fresh Brewed Tees launched the 2016 Player Election Campaign T-shirt sales program, inspired by the ongoing presidential election.

Fresh Brewed Tees partnered with players, including Seattle Mariners’ Robinson Cano and Felix Hernandez; Cleveland Indians’ Corey Kluber; and Los Angeles Dodgers’ Justin Turner, amongst others.

Players from all thirty Major League Baseball teams will be represented during this satirical campaign that demonstrates players’ competitiveness beyond the field.

Angry Birds Franchise Enters Multiple Licensing Agreements in Italy

Maurizio Distefano Licensing, the licensing agent for Angry Birds brand in Italy and Switzerland, entered four partnerships in the publishing, games and puzzles, party, and confectionery categories in Italy. The Angry Birds film will open to theaters in June in Italy.

BBS will launch an Angry Birds-themed party collection. Fratelli Fabbri Editori will publish a book series, including game books, stickers books, and puzzle books.

Ravensburger will design new puzzles and games, including 60- to 500 piece-puzzles, and 3-D puzzles.

Walcor will design products illustrated with images of the Angry Birds, including chocolate coins, Easter eggs, little eggs, Epiphany, and Christmas decorations.

NFLPA Launches Sports Activation Zone at Licensing Expo 2016

Licensing Expo added Sports Activation Zone, presented by the NFL Players Association (NFLPA), to the show lineup this year.

Produced by UBM Americas and sponsored by the Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA), Licensing Expo will be held from June 21 to 23 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The Expo is the global meeting place for the licensing industry, showcasing more than 5,000 brands available for license.

This year, attendees can compete for prizes by going head-to-head with NFL players and professional athletes in interactive games. Sesame Street, Baghch-e-Simsim Debut First Afghan Muppet Zari

Sesame Workshop unveiled its first Afghan Muppet Zari, a 6-year-old inquisitive girl ready to make her debut in the fifth season of Baghch-e-Simsim, the co-production of Sesame Street in Afghanistan.

Zari will feature in new, locally produced segments that focus on curriculum topics such as girls’ empowerment, national identity, physical health, and social and emotional wellbeing. Season five of Baghch-e-Simsim (Sesame Garden) can be seen on Tolo TV on Thursday and Friday at 4:00 p.m., and Lemar TV on Thursday and Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Zari, which translates as “shimmering,” will feature in three formats: speaking directly to viewers, interacting with kids in person, and interviewing different Afghan professionals.

Segments from other Sesame co-productions, adapted and dubbed into Dari and Pashto, will continue to introduce children to Muppet friends from the series in Egypt, Bangladesh, Mexico, and Russia.

Sesame Workshop Enters New Apparel and Accessory Collaborations

Sesame Workshop’s Sesame Street will launch new apparel and accessory lines this year through partnerships with Crocs and Quicksilver/Roxy, Pancoat, Puma, Mishka, Uniqlo, and A Bathing Ape.

Crocs will introduce a Sesame Street three-pack of Jibbitz shoe charms, featuring Elmo, Big Bird, and Cookie Monster, and a new style of Elmo Fuzz Lined Clogs for kids in the fall.

Quiksilver/Roxy will introduce a winter snow collection of jackets, snowsuits, helmets, mittens, and goggles for infants, toddlers and kids this September.

Pancoat launched its first collaboration program with Sesame Street this February, including sweatshirts, jogger pants, hoodies, and other casual apparel for kids to young adults.

Puma’s collection launched this January and includes apparel, accessories, and footwear styles.

Mishka’s collection features original artwork that updates and reinterprets classic Sesame Street characters using Mishka’s tongue-in-cheek and ironic aesthetic.

The Uniqlo collection has expanded to include T-Shirts this year, and Sesame Street will be part of the UT Collection supported by Uniqlo’s social media platforms and website.

 A Bathing Ape collection includes specially created “Baby Milo-nized” Sesame Street characters.

Sesame Workshop will also expand its agency partnership with CPLG in select European markets, including France, Spain, and Italy for apparel and gifting categories designed for teens and adults.
