Poeticgem will develop a nightwear line based on The Snowman and The Snowdog film, the sequel to Raymond Briggs’s picture book The Snowman.
The book was adapted into an animated film in 1982 and The Snowman and the Snowdog, which followed in 2012, was broadcast in the UK during the holiday season.
In the partnership with Snowman Enterprises Ltd., Poeticgem will create adult nightwear, underwear, and onesies that will capture the huge appeal of The Snowman and The Snowdog.
Genius Brands International (GBI) has appointed INgrooves Music Group as its global audio digital distribution partner. In addition to managing worldwide distribution for the GBI catalog, INgrooves will be providing various global sales and marketing and strategic services, including digital music service promotion, project management, release strategy guidance, and more.
In addition to its Baby Genius product line, GBI will work with INgrooves on the worldwide distribution of its children’s brand portfolio, including content from Stan Lee’s Mighty 7, Secret Millionares Club, and Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab.
Cartamundi has launched Shuffle, a new card game with optional interactive launch, in the Italian market. Six titles from the new line include Monopoly, Transformers, Play-Doh, My Little Pony, Guess Who?, and Boggle Slam.
Shuffle combines playing cards and digital technology for an enhanced way to play popular card games with support from tablets and smartphones. Players can bring the Chance cards to life in the Monopoly card games, receive a visit from Princess Celestia in the My Little Pony game, set up the app to act as mission control in the Transformers game, and create customized pictures using Guess Who? game imagery. The app is available for download from the Apple and Google Play stores.
The games launched in August in toy and games stores across Italy, with imminent launches in the UK, rest of Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. France and Germany have already been introduced to the product.
Saban Brands has launched its first “Show Us Your Shorts” contest. The company is calling out for original animated shorts and is accepting submissions throught Oct. 24. The winner will receive $5,000 and a developmental deal with Saban Brands.
Upon submission, a Saban Brands executive committee will judge all shorts. The top 10 selects will be displayed for public vote for two weeks. Once the top 10 are chosen, the public can campaign for their favorite short via social media using #sabanshorts.

Harman International has entered a marketing and merchandising partnership with the National Basketball Association (NBA) as the official headphone, speaker, and audio partner of the NBA, Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), NBA Development League (NBA D-League), and USA Basketball.
The partnership is the NBA’s first-ever marketing partner in these categories and Harman’s first partnership with a professional sports league.
The new partnership will focus on Harman’s JBL brand, with products featured at NBA events worldwide and integrated into league operations. Harman will provide JBL and other Harman products to players and coaches.
Harman will also produce NBA-branded audio products, including team- and player-branded headphones and portable speakers.
Nashville-based Opry Entertainment Group will create official merchandise for the TV show Nashville, an American TV drama series co-produced by ABC Studios and Lionsgate Television Group. Knockout Licensing brokered the deal.
Opry Entertainment will produce a broad range of T-shirts, accessories, gift items, and other products based on the series. Items will be sold at Opry Entertainment retail locations throughout the country music capital, including at the Grand Ole Opry.

Gas Monkey Garage has entered into partnerships with four new companies to expand its line of apparel and accessories. Brandgenuity brokered the deals.
The new licensees, Westchester, Waterloo, Gatco, and MjC, will create products in a variety of categories, including apparel, auto accessories, utility knives, and welding accessories.

Delfino Co. Ltd. and Takarajimasha Inc. have entered into licensing agreements with Boo–The World’s Cutest Dog. The deal was brokered by Tact Communications as Knockout Licensing’s appointed sub-agent for Boo in Japan.
The new agreement will create lines of Boo-themed gifts, jewelry, accessories, and a photography book for the Japanese market.
Stationery Team Europe was also granted rights to produce a line of Boo stationery products.

BBC Home Entertainment will release two collectors’ edition box sets—Merlin: The Complete Series and Doctor Who: The Complete Matt Smith Years—which will be available November 4.
The Merlin TV series, a retelling of the fabled Arthurian legend of Camelot, will be available for the first time as one complete set on DVD and Blu-ray Disk. The collection also includes bonus footage and a set of collectible magnets.
Doctor Who: The Complete Matt Smith Years gift set will include the complete adventures of the Eleventh Doctor, portrayed by Matt Smith.
The Blu-ray collection also includes Doctor Who Proms 2013, The Day of the Doctor: From Script to Screen, The Five Doctors Reboot, Doctor Who: The Ultimate Guide, and the two-part special Sarah Janes Adventures: The Death of the Doctor.
Both Blu-ray collections include 16 disks, and the Merlin DVD collection includes 24 disks.
