4Kids Entertainment International, Ltd. has announced a France-based partnership between Artlist Collection: The Dog and fast food restaurant Quick, across its 450 outlets.
The Dog is, along with Artlist’s The Cat and The Pig collections, part of a visually distinctive photography franchise that features expressive pictures of puppies, kittens, and piglets taken using a fish-eye lens.
The new promotion will see a range of four soft toys based on The Dog being given away in Quick’s Magic Box kids’ meals, which are aimed at three- to eight-year-olds. The promotion will run for a four-week period beginning March 31 in Quick restaurants across France, Benelux, and French overseas territories, and will be backed by major TV advertising, plus online and in-store campaigns.

The Really Useful Group Ltd has announced that it has signed NY-based licensing agency Brandgenuity to develop and manage its US licensing program for The Phantom of the Opera and the forthcoming production Love Never Dies to complement its own in-theater activities.
Admirers of the Phantom phenomenon can look forward to licensed products, including apparel and accessories, social expression, home decor, housewares, HBA, gifts, collectibles, interactive and games as the brand approaches its 25th anniversary.
ACI Licensing has been signed to manage the U.S. licensing programs for ABC shows Dancing with the Stars and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, with two licensees already on board for DWTS: La Femme Fashion for a formal dress collection and Hair U Wear for hair extensions.
ACI will be seeking partners for products, as well as live experiences for both properties. Possible product categories for Dancing with the Stars include live workout classes, beauty, accessories, girls’ dance-inspired toys and games, and fitness and leisure wear. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is hoping to expand into categories including home improvement, design kits, outdoor living and gardening, green products, organization and storage, decorative accessories, and toys and games.
StickerYou has launched an online service for designing, customizing, and creating high-quality stickers. StickerYou’s platform lets users create their own 8.5” x 10.5” sheets of removable, vinyl stickers, combining uploaded personal images and art from StickerYou’s library of thousands of images.
StickerYou launches with several brand partnerships, including Peanuts, Mr. Men and Little Miss and Star Trek, with the Lego brand, Showtime’s Dexter and additional brands to follow.

Strange things come in small packages. Global licensing agency Gator Group announced today that Cosmic Debris and Ashton-Drake, a division of The Bradford Exchange, have partnered to create the Emily the Strange Emily Alone at Last collectible doll. This 12-inch doll features a full Emily outfit, satchel bag, and collectible box, plus nine points of articulation and a cat-eared headband. Each Emily Alone at Last doll includes an offer for a free stuffed Mystery cat figure. Emily Alone at Last is available at select doll retailers as well as online.
Gator Group has announced that it is pursuing an aggressive, multi-year global licensing strategy for Emily the Strange to span across multiple product categories and distribution channels. New licensing deals from Gator Group include apparel, accessories, room décor, electronics, and stationery partners, as well as a few top-secret projects to be announced in Q2 2010.
The launch of a new range of Scarlett & Crimson everyday cosmetics and beauty accessories for teens in the UK has been announced by the co-owner and brand manager of the Scarlett & Crimson brand, Coolabi. The range will be available in Superdrug stores nationwide from mid April.
This fashion and lifestyle brand, jointly owned by Coolabi and creator, Ged Backland, is centered around the characters Scarlett and Crimson, best friends who create their own fashion, music and style – encouraging every girl to “Be Your Own Scene”.
The announcement follows the sell-out success of the Boots Christmas 2009 Scarlett & Crimson gifting range, also created by Ruby and Millie. Boots plans to introduce a new Scarlett & Crimson range for the 2010 Christmas period.
According to Trading Markets, PLR IP Holdings LLC (PLR), owner of the Polaroid brand, has signed a licensing agreement for development of a wide range of new Polaroid-branded consumer electronics.
Under the five-year deal, Starlight Marketing Limited, a subsidiary of Starlight International Holdings Limited, will develop Polaroid-branded digital entertainment products including stand-alone DVD and Blu-ray players, portable DVD Players, e-book readers, iPod docking stations, and home theatre systems.
Products will launch in the U.S. and Canada later this year.
